Mrs. Mandie Olean Blanchard, 86, of Winfield, Alabama, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on November 29, 1938, in Fayette County to Plezzy and Henrietta McCollum Barnes. Mandie was a devoted member of New Covenant Church of Christ and attended the West Highland School. She spent many dedicated years working as a seamstress with Reltoc Manufacturing before retiring after which she worked as a housekeeper for many people throughout the area. In her spare time, Mandie found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved cooking and baking for her family, tending to her garden, traveling with her loved ones, talking with friends over the phone, and spending time reading the Bible.
Mrs. Blanchard is survived by her children, Audrey Blanchard, Eddie Blanchard, and Elijah Blanchard, her bonus son, Steve Barnes, her grandchildren, Cameron Blanchard, Barry Blanchard, Alexus Blanchard, and Elijah L. Blanchard, her great-grandchildren, CamCam Blanchard, Camielle Blanchard, and Coasten Blanchard, her siblings, Alvis Barnes, Obie Tyra, Mamie Barnes, and Prime Barnes, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Mrs. Blanchard was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lee Blanchard, her parents Plezzy and Henrietta Blanchard, her grandson, Darien M. Blanchard, her granddaughter, Aniah Haley Blanchard, and her siblings, Alvin Barnes, Elbert Barnes, Albert Barnes, little Alfred Barnes, Eppie Tyra, Cornelia Lacey, Sammie Heard, and Jalie Barnes.
Funeral services for Mrs. Blanchard will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from the Piney Grove Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Haley Family Cemetery.
