Mr. James Archie Spear, age 75, of Brilliant, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. He was born in Slemp, Kentucky, to Archie Spear and Vertha Mae Flippo Norris. James worked his entire career in the mobile home industry, spending many years at Buccaneer Homes where he performed various roles with dedication. He was a member of New Life Fellowship Church, and after the passing of his wife Christine, he devoted his life to serving the Lord and helping others come to know God. James was known for ministering to others and being a shining light for Christ, always generous and willing to help anyone in need, whether physically, spiritually, or financially. A hardworking man, James found joy in yardwork and staying busy with projects around his home. He also enjoyed cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Mr. Spear is survived by his children, Jennifer Anderson (Barry), Jesse Spear, and Timmy White (Karen), his grandchildren, Meagan Whitson (Travis), Bella Anderson, and Jace Anderson, his great grandson, Tilden Whitson, his brother, Jerry Norris (Hope), and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to his wife Christine and his parents, Mr. Spear was preceded in death by his siblings, Jan Spear and Jeff Norris, and his stepfather Leon Norris.

Funeral services for Mr. Spear will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 12:00 noon from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon service time at the funeral home.
