Mr. Daril Lee Gettings, age 62, of Brilliant passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Gettings was born January 21, 1962 in Risco, Missouri to Julian D. and Ruby Brown Gettings. He was a man of God and attended Brilliant Church of God faithfully when his health allowed. Daril was born and raised in Missouri and lived there until 1987 when he moved to Alabama. In earlier years Daril was employed as a farmer before becoming a truck driver, he also spent many years in the mobile home industry before his retirement. In his spare time, Daril enjoyed playing guitar and singing, spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Daril is survived by his wife of 36 years, Tabatha Gettings, his sons, Elijah Heath Gettings, Elisha Keith Gettings (Tiffany), and Adam Gettings, all of Brilliant, his daughters, Heather Elam (Anthony) of Brilliant, Holly Cavaness of Arkansas, and Tanya Manuel (Chris) of Missouri, grandchildren, Colton and Dalton Gettings, and Allison and Serenity Finch, siblings, Julie Cullum (Jerry), Patricia Cullum (Steve), and Julian Dwight Gettings Jr. (Monica) all of Missouri, and Michael Gettings (Donna) of Mississippi, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Daril was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harold Gettings, and a sister, Reda Mae Gettings.

Funeral services for Mr. Gettings will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
