Della Mae Brasseal, age 92, of Brilliant, passed away at her residence on Friday, May 8, 2026. Mrs. Brasseal was born in Winfield, AL on January 13, 1934, to the late James Abram and Maddie Langley Henderson. She was a graduate of Winfield High School. Mrs. Brasseal was saved as a child and remained faithful throughout her life. She was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church as a child and later faithfully attended First Freewill Baptist Church of Hamilton. On July 5, 1952, she married the love of her life, Allan H. Brasseal, and together they shared many cherished years of marriage and devotion to their family. Mrs. Brasseal was a line supervisor for many years with Munsingwear Industries until her retirement. Prior to her working career, she devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother, caring for her home and family. After retiring, she owned and operated a craft shop where she continued sewing for the public. She was an exceptional seamstress and often made clothes for her children. She also loved cooking, canning and gardening, and making sure those she loved were well cared for. Following retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling together, attending church, and going to gospel singings. She was also a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.

Mrs. Brasseal is survived by her children, Scott Brasseal (Wanda), Rebecca Brasseal, and Jane Brasseal Franks (Ron); grandsons, Joel Franks (Melanie), Brian Brasseal (Joann), Tommy Franks (April), and Wesley Brasseal (Joelina); great grandchildren, Caleb (Cadence), Joshua, Jonathan, and Makayla Franks, Paul, Kathryn, Ruth, Caroline, Benjiman, Hannah, and Noah Brasseal, and Isadora Dos Anjos; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brasseal was preceded in death by her husband Allan H. Brasseal; her brothers, Hilburn and Elmer Henderson; and her sisters, Erlene McCaleb and Lela Garrison.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brasseal will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Center Methodist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mary Elaine Heathcock, age 67, of Guin, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at her residence. Mrs. Heathcock was born on February 14, 1959, in Moline, Illinois, to Peter Jens and Fannie Lester Wadsager. As a teenager she moved with her family to Alabama, where she attended Marion County High School. Mary was employed at Diversicare Nursing Facility, where she worked in the laundry department for nearly six years, until her health no longer allowed. In her spare time, Mary loved caring for her dogs, going fishing, and grilling with family. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, and doing yardwork.

Mrs. Heathcock is survived by her husband, David Heathcock; her children, Christina Hill (Scott) and George Heathcock (Marissa); her stepson, David Lee Heathcock; her grandchildren, Alysheia Golden (William), Tatyana Mayo (Texas), Braden Hill, and Justus, Brylieh, and Logan Heathcock; her great grandchildren, Arielle and Finnley Golden; her sisters, Ellen Kerr (Frankie) and Shirley Rhodenbaugh, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Mrs. Heathcock was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Perry Wadsager, Lyle Wadsager, Sharon Wemhauner, Charles Wadsager, Alta Mae Franks, and Cleath Bill Wadsager.

A memorial service for Mrs. Heathcock will be held at a later date.

Mr. Tommy Wayne Henderson, age 85, of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his residence. Mr. Henderson was born in Winfield, Alabama on April 30, 1941, to Alfred and Pearl Smith Henderson. He was a lifelong resident of the Winfield area, including the Glen Allen area where he lived for the past 45 years. Tommy graduated from Winfield City High School and went on to attend the University of Alabama, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He attended Winfield Methodist Church. Tommy began his career as a sales manager for Continental Conveyor and later founded North Alabama Title Company, where he served as owner and president for over 40 years. His leadership extended into public service as well, as he served as a former mayor of Glen Allen, Alabama, contributing greatly to the community he loved.

Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane Henderson; his son, Patrick Henderson and his wife Stacie; his grandsons, Levi and Landon Henderson; his great grandchildren, Asher and Jaiden Henderson; and a host of other family members and friends.

Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Tena Henderson Pollard and Linda Henderson.

A private graveside service will be held for Mr. Henderson at Winfield City Cemetery.

Mr. Danny Wayne Burleson, age 73, of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at DCH Medical Center. He was born on June 3, 1952, in Guin, Alabama to Dan and Eunice Pugh Burleson. In his earlier years, Danny worked as a truck driver before beginning a long and dedicated career at Dodd Furniture, where he spent over 40 years as an appliance salesman and repairman. He was well known for his knowledge and skill in repairing appliances. After the store’s closing, Danny, along with his sister, became co-owner and operator of Southern Depot. In his spare time, Danny enjoyed watching Alabama football, spending time with his family, and tinkering with tractors, mules, and horses. He was instrumental in the early years of planning and participation of Mule Day.

Danny is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Burleson; his children, Brett Burleson (Dana) and Amanda Winborn; his step children, Chris and Curtis Johnson; his grandchildren, Courtney Gillion (Brandon), Carlee Otts (Zack), Cursten Tucker (Colby), Presley Olive, and Ethan and Eli Winborn; great grandchildren, Kailee and Hudson Gillion, Brantley, Levi, and Savannah Otts, and Dellah Reign Tucker; his siblings, Steve “Bit” Burleson (Janet) and Linda Dodd (Kenny); his nephew, Brody Dodd; and a host of other family members and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; and his nephew, Blake Dodd.

Funeral services for Danny will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time.
