Mr. James Mack Roberts better known as Mack, age 74 of Brilliant passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Mack was born on July 31, 1947 in Haleyville, AL to James Perry and Learah May Moore Roberts. Mack was a 1965 graduate of Brilliant High School, a United States Army veteran, a member of the Brilliant Masonic Lodge # 601 and a supporter of the St. Jude's Children"s Hospital. He was employed over 32 years with Drummond Coal Company and served in the Army National Guard over 20 years. Mack enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, playing music, watching westerns, and telling stories.

Mack is survived by his children, Jeana Estes (Tim), Kathy Green, and Johnny Mack Roberts, grandchildren, Skye Hollingsworth (Reed), Joshua Estes, Joseph Estes, Logan Green, and Sarah Rice (Noah) and great grandson, Carter Seals. Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents, James “Jim” and Learah Roberts and wife, Ina Jean Roberts.

Funeral Service for Mr. Roberts will be held on Thursday September 16, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel followed by a graveside service at Brilliant Memorial Gardens where Masonic honors will be presented, visitation for Mr. Roberts will be held from 3:00p.m. until 4:00p.m. (service time).

Joyce Clanton, age 83 of Tallahassee, FL formerly Winfield passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in Florida. Funeral services for Joyce will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen FunerHome Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Clanton family.

Mrs. Shirley Fay Sims McCollum, age 80 of Winfield passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021. Shirley was born on March 25, 1941 in Brilliant, Alabama. She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church of Winfield and attended Winfield City High School. Shirley served the children of the Winfield City Schools for over 25 years as lunchroom manager. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who always had a smile.

Mrs. McCollum is survived by her children, Tonya McCollum, Tammy Johnson (Randell), grandchildren, Dayson Westbrooks, Haley Westbrooks, Charla Johnson, Devin Johnson, great grandchildren, Brooks Brown, Hayden Brown, Braxton Pilkington, Kenton Pilkington, Will Pilkington, Sadie Kate Pilkington, Lila Johnson, her twin brother, Johnny Sims (Jimmy), sister, Jean Jones, sister-in-law, Marie Sims and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McCollum, mother, Ludell Sims, sister, Bobby Emerson, and brothers, Billy Sims, and Jamie Sims.

Funeral services for Mrs. McCollum will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the McCollum family.

Mr. Thomas Michael Franks better known as Mike, passed away on Friday September 3, 2021.

Mike was born on July 30, 1965 to Garrison and Sara Franks and was a 1984 graduate of Marion County High School. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Franks is survived by his daughter, Catlin Franks, parents, Garrison and Sara Franks, brother, Randell Franks (Paula) and a host of other relatives and friends.

A private graveside service was held from the Mt. Willing Cemetery. Brother Donald Kivette was the officiating minister. Bowen Funeral Home serving the Franks family.
