Mr. Roger O’Dell Hulsey, age 76 of Brilliant passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Hulsey was born in Brilliant, Alabama on January 11, 1946 to O’Dell and Vernell Hulsey. He was a member of the Gold Mine Church of Christ in Brilliant, AL and of the Brilliant Masonic Lodge # 601. Roger worked with various mining companies for over 34 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time outdoors and volunteering at Diversicare of Winfield for Sunday Communion.
Mr. Hulsey is survived by his wife of 32 years, Virginia Chase Hulsey, children, Tonya Below (David) of Foley, AL, son, Boomer Hulsey (Tonya) of Dora, and Tasha Hulsey of Brilliant, grandchildren, Sawyer Martin, Brookly Hulsey, Bruin Hulsey, Caleb Clayton, Garrett Clayton, Cadence Thompson, Cameron Thompson, Carragen Vickery and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and other relatives and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, O’Dell Hulsey, mother, Vernell Self Stough, stepfather, Merlin Stough, brothers, Ronnie and Donald Hulsey, sisters, Linda Egbert and Brenda Rugar, and nephews, Rex and Donnie Hulsey.
A memorial service for Mr. Hulsey will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. from the Gold Mine Church of Christ near Brilliant. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. ( service time) at the church. Jerry Self will be the officiating minister.

Mr. David Lee Rawls, age 56 of Center Point, Alabama passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his residence.  David was a member of Deerfoot Church of Christ and a 1990 graduate of The University of Alabama School of Law.

David is survived by his brother, Michael (Sharon) Rawls of Jacksonville, FL and nephews Garrick Rawls of Melbourne, Australia, Dane (Loan) Rawls of Jacksonville, FL, two great nieces, Ailey and Cady Rawls, and great nephew Ary Rawls. Aunts Betty (Bobby) Trull of Merritt Island, FL, Sandra Singer of Pinson, AL, and uncle, Gary Burks (Anna Lou) of Tuscaloosa, AL, along with many cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Sue Rawls, grandparents, Clyde and Carrie Burks, step-grandmother, Lucille Burks, Huston and Clytie Rawls, uncle,George Singer, Jr., and a cousin, Mark Trull.

Funeral services for David will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brock Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Billy Ray Lee, age 83 of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility in Guin. Mr. Lee was born on July 4, 1938, to Gurley and Mamie Bishop Lee. He was a member of the Concord First Pentecostal Church of God and attended Winfield City High School. Billy was employed with Hayes Aircraft Corporation for 26 years and later retired from The Boeing Company. He enjoyed Alabama Football and spending time with his family and friends.  

Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Posey Lee, son Keith Lee, and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Lee, sisters, Jimmie Ann Hardy, and Carolyn Caudle, nephew, David Taylor (Felicia), nieces, Christie Fletcher (Aaron), Farrah Garrison (Travis), and Deborah McDonald (Kevin), and a host of great nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Lee will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. for the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Berryhill Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Daniel Wayne Jones better known as Pete, age 78 of Winfield passed away on February 1, 2022. Mr. Jones was born in Marion County Alabama on August 4, 1943 to Bruce and Nina Nolen Jones. He was a 1961 graduate of Brilliant High School. Pete was employed with Continental Conveyor & Equipment Company in Winfield, AL for many years as a machinist in the Tool and Dye department. Mr. Jones enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and watching Auburn Football. He was a very generous, selfless and loving man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Tommie Lou Jones and Laverne Garner, brothers, Wallace and James Jones, nieces, Angie Camp and Barbara Mayfield, nephews, Mark Garner and Ronald Jones. He is survived by his sister, Mary Eddy, nieces, Angie King and Susan White, nephews, Brian Jones, Bruce Eddy, Michael Garner, David Garner and a host of great nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
