Mrs. Evelyn Ann Stanford, better known as “Evie” age 81, of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 in the Northwest Medical Center. Evie was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 6, 1942 to Aloysius Thomas and Anna Frances Bogusz Guzowski. She attended Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Schurz High School in Chicago, Illinois. Evie spent much of her life as a seamstress and sewed for many years with Jan’s Fabric. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, playing scrabble, doing crossword puzzles, listening to music, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Evie is survived by her daughter, Cindy Crump (Robbie), grandchildren, Erica Krell (Dan), Hannah Crump, Katie Hallman (Wesley), and Allie Thorn (Seth), her great grandchildren, Anna Sellers, Everly Hallman, Grayer Hallman, Raylan Davis, Brock Thorn, and Elijah Thorn, her brothers, Kenneth Guzowski (Darlene), Christopher Guzowski (Linda), her sister, Annette Ambrus (Jeff), nieces and nephews, Dawn Puckhaber, Amy Topor, Julie Bayer, Kurt Guzowski, Christopher Guzowski, Kimberly Bruton, Pamela Lundberg, Greg Guzowski, Erik Ambrus, and Dana Ambrus.
Evie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Bud” Stanford and her parents.
Funeral services for Evie will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Goldmine Church of Christ Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time at the funeral home.

Ana Laura Lugo Martinez passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the age of 6. Ana will be eternally remembered by her mother, Rogelia Martinez, her father, Onesimo Lugo, her siblings, Luis, Roberto, Antonio, Edwardo, and Esmeralda Lugo, her aunt, Maria Martinez, and her cousin, Erica Martinez.
A time of visitation for Ana will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 beginning at 12:00 noon from the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tuscaloosa, AL with funeral mass to follow. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Gordo, AL.

Mr. Thomas Clanton Hubbert, better known as “T.C.” age 75, of the Bazemore community passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 at his residence. T.C. was born in Bazemore, Alabama on January 8, 1949 to Silas Jr. and Willodean Hollingsworth Hubbert. He was a member of Whites Chapel Church of Christ and a 1967 graduate of Hubbertville High School. T.C. spent much of his life as a machine operator with Arvin Industries of Fayette, from where he retired after 35 years of service. In his spare time T.C. enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Alabama Football, and spending time with family and friends.
T.C. is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Hubbert, his children, Tina McDonald (Stanley), Mike Hubbert, and Jason Hubbert (Jennifer), his grandchildren, Ginny McDonald, Peyton McDonald (Savannah), Haley Autrey (Levi), Ashlyn Pratt (TJ), Maci McCaleb, and Willa Hubbert, great granddaughter, Lyra Autrey, beloved dog, Flash, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
In addition to his parents, T.C. was preceded in death by his grandson, Clint McDonald, and his brother, Steve Hubbert.
Funeral services for T.C. will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from the Whites Chapel Church of Christ with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the church.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, John Carl (Yank) Burgess, age 96 of Winfield. He passed away peacefully at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, Alabama on the night of November 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 70 years, Jackie Burgess.
He was born on May 18, 1928 in Rock City, Alabama, to John and Dreusilla White Burgess. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Willie Weeks and Ethel Pate, and his brothers, Marlin Burgess, Claude Burgess and A. Burgess.
Mr. Burgess is survived by two daughters, Carla Burgess and Greta Burgess, and two sons, Barry Burgess and Kevin Burgess, and his grandchildren, Kelly Black, Amy Wyatt, Tyler McGee, Brandi McDowell, Brittany Sellers, Emileigh Burgess, Alleigh Burgess, Annika Horne, and fourteen great grandchildren. He loved them all immeasurably and was known to all of them as Granddaddy.
He was a Shriner and a member of Winfield Mason Lodge #304. He loved the outdoors, especially gardening and fishing. He was an avid Alabama football fan.
Funeral services for Mr. Burgess will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. service time at the funeral home.
