Ms. Joan Hall, better known as “Jo Ann,” age 75 of Guin passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 in the Marion Regional Nursing Facility. She was born in Bexar, Mississippi on April 6, 1949 to Choyce and Ledelia White Hall. Jo Ann is survived by her sisters, Barbara Hall, Linda Darnell Evans, and Choyce Fields, nieces and nephews, Crystal Brown, Spencer Brown, Charity Hardison, Marc Hardison (Ashley), and Charlotte Makoyo (Oolo), and a host of cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Cheryl Hall.
Funeral services for Jo Ann will be held on Friday December 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Billie Jean Doss, age 83, of Winfield passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 in the Northwest Medical Center. Billie was born in Winfield, Alabama on August 1, 1941 to Boss and Elizabeth Tidwell Whitehead. She was a long-time member of Eastside Baptist Church. Billie spent many years employed with Reltoc Manufacturing and later as a shipping and receiving associate with Walmart of Winfield where she later retired. In her spare time Billie enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains, watching Auburn football, and taking care of her beloved cat, Susie.
Billlie is survived by her sons, Scott Doss of Winfield, Heath Doss (Jennifer) of Berry and Trent Doss of Winfield, her brother, Charles Whitehead of Morton, MS, her beloved cat, Susie, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by sisters, Ava Dean McCaleb and Jessie Nell Tidwell, brothers, Leon Whitehead, CB Whitehead, and Randy Whitehead, special niece, Sandra Clinton, and daughter-in-law, Sandy Doss.
A graveside service for Mrs. Doss will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-win.

Mr. Johnny Albert Williams, age 82, of Winfield passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Williams was born in Sulligent, Alabama on July 20, 1942 to William and Mary McClendon Williams. He was a member of White Springs Methodist Church and attended Sulligent High School. Johnny spent much of his life as a Marion County Animal Control Officer and dog trainer. In his spare time Johnny enjoyed coon hunting, where he served as UKC Master of Hounds and bench show judge.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Charlotte Williams, his granddaughters, Erin Zurcher (Augie) and Kaleigh Tucker, sisters, Annie Fay Otts (Roy), Della Ophelia Wilson (Bud), and Linda Ling (Bobby), sisters-in-law, Jackie Gonzales and Ann Clayton, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his daughters, Mary Elizabeth Williams and Amanda Green, and siblings, Hattie Mae Merchant, Ella Ray Cox, Hubie Franklin Williams, Leila Gray Breaux, Burlie Williams, Willie Rae Hester, Billy Bob Williams, and Dorothy Pickle.
A memorial service for Johnny will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
