Donald Aaron Halford, better known as Donnie, age 22 of Hubbertville passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at his residence. Donnie was born in St. Louis, MO on October 2, 2002. He was a 2021 graduate of Hubbertville High School where he loved cheering on the Hubbertville Lions and playing cymbals in the Lion Pride Marching Band. Donnie was a sweet soul with a heart of gold and loved others unconditionally. He was always joking and smiling and loved for everyone around him to do the same. Donnie enjoyed spending his time listening to music, dancing, and watching Alabama and NFL football.

Donnie is survived by his parents, LaShelle Halford, and Jackie Malone, aunts and uncles, Kristy and Brent May, James and Laura Malone, and Candi and Glin Reid, and a host of cousins, other family members, and friends.

Donnie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Deanna Ellis, and Jack and Vera Malone.

Funeral services for Donnie will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Berea Church of Christ Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Ricky Joe Beasley, better known as Joe age 64, of Winfield passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at his residence. Joe was born in Fayette County, Alabama on April 18, 1960 to Howard and Wynell Jones Beasley. He was a member and deacon of the Unity Baptist Church and a 1976 graduate of Hubbertville High School. Joe later attended Columbia Southern University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in health and occupational safety management. He was employed with Continental Conveyor for more than 10 years before becoming a safety manager with Airbus Helicopter. Joe also spent many years with Fayette Medical Center as a part time EMT. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Beasley is survived by his wife, Teresa Beasley, sons, Kevin Beasley (Amber) of Hubbertville, Keith Beasley of Hubbertville, and Chris Beasley of Niceville, FL., 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters, Ann White and Brenda Bly (Randy), brothers, Bob Beasley (Rebecca), and John Beasley (Ashley), and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Beasley is preceded in death by a nephew, Tyler Beasley.

Funeral services for Mr. Beasley will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Unity Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.

Mrs. Linda Martin Sewell, age 80 of Gulf Shores, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility in Guin. Mrs. Sewell was born in Brilliant, Alabama on February 13, 1945 to Alfred and Annie Laurie Lawrence Martin. She was a long-time member of the Winfield First Methodist Church and a 1962 graduate of Brilliant High School. Linda attended the University of Alabama after graduation where she earned her degree as a registered nurse. She had a passion for nursing and helping others, Linda played a vital role in beginning the Hospice of Northwest Alabama in 1993, she served as the director for 5 years. Mrs. Sewell was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Aubrey L. Sewell, her daughter, Lori Sewell Johnson, her son, Aubrey “Lee” Sewell II, her parents, brother, Royal Martin, stepfather, Robert Ira Smith, and stepbrother-in-law, Jim Cull. She is survived by her grandchildren, Anna Richardson and her husband Matt, Dr. John Lucien Johnson and his wife Lauren, stepbrothers, Robert “Bob” Smith (Cheryl) and Jeff Smith (Mari), stepsister, Mary Lou Cull, sister-in-law, Dianne Martin, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Mrs. Sewell’s family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will immediately follow in the Winfield City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Winfield Alumni Association, Lee and Lori Sewell Memorial Scholarship fund at the Citizens Bank of Winfield.

Mrs. Lillie Mae Bishop Green, age 71 of Winfield passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 at her residence. Lillie was born on January 18, 1954 in Marked Tree, Arkansas to William Porter Bishop and Vistor Dobbs Bishop. Mrs. Green attend Winfield Freewill Baptist Church and loved spoiling her grand and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Green is survived by her children, Terry Green (Jenifer) of Jasper, Tina Martinez (Cliserio) of Winfield and Thomas Green of Winfield, grandchildren, Haley (Tim), Brittany, Harley (Bradley), Trevor, Hannah (Jameson), Hunter (Kristie), Micah, Brenton and Kylee, great grandchildren, Lilly, Jaxson, Jonathan, Mason, Emma Grace, Zaylee, Brayden. Heath, Rhett, Bryson, Olivia, Ryder, Logan, sister, Peggy Bishop Inman and brothers, JP Bishop and Daniel Bishop and other family and close friends and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hermon Green, son, Timothy Allen Green, her parents and siblings, Homer Bishop, James Gilliam, Ruthie Nell Hammond, Louise Willoughby, Mary Alice Foster and Dessie Mae Gray.
Funeral services for Lillie will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Old Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12 noon until 2 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
