Mr. Matthew Colby Duckworth, age 39, of Brilliant, AL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in the Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham after a long battle with cancer. Colby was born on March 4, 1983 in Fayette, AL to Donald and Laura Jo Ballard Duckworth. He was a 2001 graduate of Brilliant High School. Colby had an infectious smile that would light up a room. In his spare time Colby enjoyed music and watching movies.

Colby is survived by his  brother, Adam Duckworth (Letitia) of Winfield, stepdaughter, Nella Brooke Stanford, God parents, Ed and Joan Canterberry, special aunt, Frances Johnson, nephews, Drew Duckworth (Courtney), and Dyllan Duckworth (Carleigh), niece, Halle Raines (Robert), great-nephew, Tobias Duckworth, great-niece, Amelia Duckworth, aunts and uncles, Pat and Danita Ballard, Doris Johnson, Willie and Gary Taylor, Edna McCullough, Angie and Woemack Rainey, Annette and Dennis Moore, Gennette Hester, and Linda Jordan, and a host of other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Colby was preceded in death by grandparents, Holbart and Jewell Duckworth, and Riley and Dena Harp, and aunt, Glenda Harp.

Funeral services for Colby will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. from The Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Saturday in the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Elene McCaleb Lawrence, age 98 of the Hubbertville Community, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2022 at her residence.  Funeral services for Mrs. Lawrence will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Berea Church of Christ with burial to follow in the New River Church of Christ Cemetery.  The visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.  In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Hubbertville High School 7360 Co Rd 49 Fayette, AL 35555.

Amy Michelle Taylor, age 48, of Fort Myers, FL formerly of Winfield, AL passed away December 31, 2022 in Fort Myer, FL. Amy was born on December 18, 1974 in Amory, Mississippi to Ronald and Jean Taylor. She was a member of the Harmony Grove Baptist Church and a 1993 graduate of the Winfield City High School.

Amy is survived by her parents, Ronald and Jean Trentham Taylor, sister, Denise Taylor Stanback, her brother, Zach Taylor and a niece, Jenna Caroline Borden. She was preceded in death by her sister, Tiffany Rena Taylor Borden.

A private family graveside service will be held from the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Steve Stamps will be the officiating minister.

Wilma B. Sullins, 90, of Buford, Georgia, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 6, 2023 at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. 

 
Funeral services for Wilma will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen Funeral Home with Rev. C.W. Box officiating. Burial will be held at White Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will gather with friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
 
Wilma was born July 19, 1932, in Winfield, Alabama, to the late Walter Bly and the late Lillie Bly; also preceding Wilma in death was her spouse, Gene M. Sullins; cherished daughter, Deborah Sullins; sister, Audrey Gosa; sister, Charlene Bly; sister, Willie Mae Vallejo; brother, Clarence Bly; brother, Columbus Bly. 
 
Wilma was of the Christian faith and a former member of Norcross First Baptist Church. Her hobbies included listening to music and singing, plants, needlepoint, and traveling. The most precious times to Wilma were the moments she spent with her grandsons, Sawyer and Bailey. 
 
Wilma is survived by her cherished daughter, Jennifer S. Kitchens, of Buford; grandchildren, Sawyer B. Kitchens, Bailey R. Kitchens; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.
