Mr. Brandon Kyle Stephens, age 46, of Madisonville, LA, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, in Slidell, LA. Kyle was born was August 10, 1976, in Covington, LA, to Jerry L. “Pete” Stephens and Melinda Kay Norris but his mother always said that Kyle was a miracle baby in that he was born with two mothers that loved him equally. He hit the lottery when Laura Reed Stephens became his other mother when he was six years old. Kyle attended Cathedral Christian in Center Point, Alabama until he moved back home to Louisiana in 1995. He attended Covington High School and later attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he received a degree in Criminal Justice. Kyle was employed for many years with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and later with the Madisonville Louisiana Police Department. He worked alongside his grandfather, Floyd Norris, selling art and also ran a successful lawn care business for many years to supplement his income as a law enforcement officer. More recently he opened his own wholesale rug company and was traveling the southern states building his business. In what spare time he had, he enjoyed playing foosball, often playing in tournaments across the United States. He loved to coach his sons in soccer and football, both of which he played throughout his school life, but more than anything, he loved to fish with his sons. All of his life, Kyle had a passion for animals and would often bring home a stray, injured or mistreated animal he found on the road. His family never knew what would be coming home with him to become one of his “babies”.

Kyle is survived by his father, Pete Stephens, and his mothers, Kay Norris and Laura Stephens, his adoring grandfather, Floyd V. Norris, sons, Jack Riley Stephens and Pete Austin Stephens, his girlfriend and loving partner, Gina Browne, sisters Ashley Nicole Ludtke and Keli Stephens Wilkinson (Tres), brothers Jerry L. Norris (Susan), Gordon Stephens and Reginald Stephens (Sharon), and a host of other family members and friends.
