Mr. Gary Tommy Robison, age 78 of Beaverton, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at his residence. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Eula Pugh Robison, and his brothers, Nathan, Basil, Major and Hilton Robison. Gary was born in Lamar County, Alabama the 5th born son to Johnny and Eula. He attended Bobo School from 1st grade through the 9th grade and graduated in 1962 from Hubbertville High School. After graduation, he worked in the Texas oil fields and later at Elrod Oswalt’s farm. Gary enlisted in the United States Army in 1964 and served two years in the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii during the Vietnam war. In April of 1965, Gary married the love of his life for over 57 years, Shirley Ann Harrison. After his discharge from the Army, Gary was employed with Continental Conveyor and Equipment Company in Winfield for over 40 years. After his retirement from Continental Conveyor, Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, watching westerns, and visits from his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Mr. Robison is survived by his wife, Shirley Harrison Robison, his children, Melinda (Rod) Gilliland, Mike (Tammy) Robison, and Johnny (Amber) Robison, his grandchildren, Devin (Ashley) Robison, Maegan (Kyle) Flynn, Jerica (Drake) Cochran, Dalton (Nicole) Robison, Laken Berryhill, Hunter Berryhill, Gavin Robison, Chase Berryhill, and Waylon Robison, great grandchildren, Blade, Piper, Emerson, Taygen, Kylie, Weston, Kason, Carson, Marlie, Addie, Everleigh, David, and Ryder, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Robison will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Lamar County. The visitation will be on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
