Mr. Basil Ray Dickson, better known as Ray age 79, of Eldridge passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Dickson was born on February 19, 1943 in Eldridge, Alabama to Basil and Ruby Ivey Dickson. Mr. Dickson was a member of the Eldridge Free Will Baptist Church and attended Eldridge and Hubbertville High School. Mr. Dickson spent much of his life working as a Strip Miner for Drummond Company Inc. where he later retired. Mr. Dickson enjoyed many things during his life, a few of which were, horses, drag racing, spending time outdoors and tinkering with his tractor. Mr. Dickson also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Mr. Dickson is survived by his loving wife, Judy White Dickson, sons, AJ Dickson and his wife Kristen, and Kevin Dickson, stepson, Gary Dodd and his wife Lila, grandchildren, Kaylee, Case, Garron, and Landon Dickson, and Cole Davis, step-grandchildren, Jonas and Eli Dodd, step great-grandson, River Dodd, five sisters, one brother, and a host of other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents Mr. Dickson was preceded in death by his son Michael Dickson and brother, Curtis Dickson.

Funeral services for Mr. Dickson will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Kelley Cemetery near Eldridge. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. Randy Key will be the officiating minister.
