Mr. Harlon E. “Dean” Dodd, age 86 of Winfield passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021. He was born in Fayette County Alabama on September 6, 1934 to Floyd and Estelle Dodd. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Dean was a Christian and a loving husband, but most of all an incredible father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Dean was an entrepreneur, business owner and a truckdriver; he was always buying and selling equipment of all types. Mr. Dodd was the owner of Winfield Truck Parts for many years. Dean, along with Mr. Hershel Sprinkle, were co-owner/operators of D & S Excavating, coal mine, and trucking Company. Dean enjoyed Alabama Football, adventures of all kinds, and making friends.

Dean is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ann Perry Dodd, his children, Kenneth Dean (Connie) Dodd of Eldridge, Vicki Lynn (Jerry) Cooper of Huntsville, Glenn Ray (Lavonda) Dodd of Tuscaloosa, Kimberly (Terry) Prescott of Eldridge, stepchildren, Mark (Kay) Webster of Winfield, Tina (Ricky) Spiller of Winfield, and Jeff Webster of Winfield, grandchildren, Tim Dodd, Heather Dodd Smith, Caitlyn Cooper, Jeremy Cooper, Brittany Brown, Bradley Prescott, Scotty Webster, Jennifer Lacy, Cassie Tucker, Colin Webster and Katie Johnson, Kecia Evans, six great great grandchildren and twelve step great great grandchildren, two sisters, Maylene McWhirter of Eldridge and Merita Bailey of Hamilton, and two brothers, Bobby (Maxine) Dodd of Winfield and Benji (Kay) Dodd of Hubbertville, his lifelong friend Kenny Keeton and a host of nieces, nephews and other close family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Dodd and Estelle Sprinkle Dodd, wife, Carol Dodd, son, Phillip Dodd, five brothers, and two step grandchildren, Chad Webster, and Hayden Spiller.

Funeral services for Dean will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Kelley Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Dodd family.
