Mr. Clarence Alton Watley, age 92, of Pell City formerly of Brilliant, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Brookwood Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Watley served in the United States Air Force from 1945 until 1968, he retired from the Air Force as E9 Cheif Master Sargent before his employment as an electronics instructor for Macon Technical College in Macon, GA. He was later employed with the Civil Service as GS12 from 1973 until his retirement in 1986.

He is survived by his children, Don Watley (Sharon) of Pell City, and Kathy Watley of Tampa, FL, his grandchildren, Aaron Lloyd (Olivia), Shae White (Chris), Jarod Lloyd (Natalie), Josh Grimes (Sherry), Blake Lloyd (Kelly), and Jason Grimes, great grandchildren, Makena, Kaylan, Jena, Ella Grace, Carter, Harley, Anniston, Christian, Brittany and Austin. Mr. Watley was preceded in death by his parents, Logan Virgil Watley and Ollie Schrimsher Watley, wife, Mary Berryhill Watley, two sisters, and five brothers.
Funeral service for Mr. Watley will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Boston Cemetery near Brilliant. Greg Lowery will be the officiating minister. The visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home.
