Mr. Henry Hexton Lindsey, age 88, of Winfield, passed away Friday August 24, 2018, at the Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. Henry was a graduate of Hamilton High School, the Massey Business College and Howard College, (Samford University) where he earned his degree in Pharmacy. Mr. Lindsey was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and owner-operator of Oden-Shirey Drug Co. in Winfield from November 1957 until his retirement in August 1998. Henry served on the Winfield City Council and the Winfield City High School Board of Education. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Eckford Lindsey and Lena Jane Duke Lindsey, a sister, Maxine Lindsey Gann, a brother, Jimmie F. Lindsey, and children, Jerry & Terry Lindsey and Janie Lindsey Collier. Mr. Lindsey is survived by 4 sons, Henry H. “Hank” Lindsey III (Debbie) of Pell City, Robin H. Lindsey of Winfield, Lyndal M. Lindsey “Lyn” (Courtney) of Winfield, and William H. Lindsey (Angela) of Hoover, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Terry of Decatur, and the mothers of his children, Rosa Lindsey and Johnnie Lindsey. Funeral services for Mr. Lindsey will be held on Sunday August 26, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery near Hamilton. The visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. (service time) on Sunday at the funeral home. Rev. Preston Hendrick and Rev. Ray Gray will be the officiating ministers.
