Justin Ray Butler, age 41, of Brilliant passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026. He was born in Haleyville, Alabama on November 23, 1984 to Greg Cummings and Mary Brock Butler. A lifelong resident of Brilliant, Justin attended Brilliant High School. He spent much of his working life in the timber industry, where he worked for various area logging companies and tree cleanup crews.

Justin is survived by his children, Madalyn Butler and Lane Butler; his mother Mary Butler, his brothers, Jason Butler and Brandon Cummings; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members. Justin was preceded in death by his father, Greg Cummings.

Funeral services for Justin will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brock Church of Christ Cemetery.
