Frances Harp Johnson went to her heavenly reward on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. She was born on July 2, 1935, to Riley and Dena Harp of Brilliant, AL. Frances lived a life of service and generosity to all who knew her. She served as Treasurer of Mount Pisgah Methodist Church for 40 years. She began her working life in garment plants and retired after several years at Gateway Foods in Brilliant where she was known for bringing biscuits and cakes for all the employees. After retirement she devoted herself to cooking meals for the sick and shut ins in her church and community. At one time she cooked for 15 households each week. Cooking was her love language, and she was well known for her fried pies and chicken and dumplings. In the last month of her life her children realized that along with supporting her local church she also contributed to at least 9 charities on a monthly basis. She didn’t preach to her family about giving, she set an example for them to follow. Frances yearned for the day when she would leave this earth for her heavenly home. She deeply missed those she loved who had gone on before, her husband, Claude, her mother and dad, her siblings, Ray, Mary, Jimmie, Nola, Harold, and Glenda, and her grandsons, Trent and Brent Canterberry, Wesley Johnson, and Colby Duckworth. Left to carry on her work on this earth are; her daughter Joan Canterberry (Ed), sons, Jimmy Johnson (Teresa), Paul/Pete Johnson (Susan), and Pat Ballard (Danita), grandchildren; Stacy Garrison, Jacob Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Tosha Lann, Pete Lovett, and Kristyana Lines, Honorary grandson, Adam Duckworth (Tish), great grandchildren, Braxton and Braden Canterberry, Annie and Joseph Garrison, Elijah Johnson (Anna), Cohen Johnson, Seth Spiller, and Logan Lann, honorary great grandchildren, Kason and John Pool, and one great-great grandson, Asher Canterberry.
