Angelia Denise Houston, age 57 of Cottondale, formerly of Brilliant, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Hospice of West Alabama Inpatient Facility in Tuscaloosa. Angie was born on March 26, 1968, in Winfield, Alabama, to Lannie and Glenda Smith Key. She was a 1986 graduate of Brilliant High School, where she proudly served as a cheerleader. Angie was a faithful member of Cottondale Church of Christ. For more than ten years, Angie worked at Mercedes-Benz where she most recently served as a quality control inspector, a role she took great pride in. She was known for her outgoing personality, quick wit, and the ability to make others feel instantly at ease. Angie never met a stranger and always wore a smile, no matter what she was facing. She found joy crocheting, tending to her rose bushes, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her fur babies, Diesel, Leo, Bella, and Lucy, also held a special place in her heart.
Angelia is survived by her loving husband, Eric Houston; her children, Cody Berryhill (Jenny), Lacey Bishop (Brennan), and Tresdon Sloan (Matt); her grandchildren, Grayson Berryhill, Cooper Bishop, Makindslee Sloan, Bentley Sloan and Halle Bishop; her father, Lannie Key; her siblings; Sandy Markham (Tommy) and Wesley Key (Laura); and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Olivia Grace Berryhill; her mother, Glenda Key; her grandparents, Lynu and Lois Key and Grady and Gladys Smith; and her uncles, Danny and Chris Key.
Funeral services for Angelia will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Brilliant Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., service time at the funeral home.
