Mr. Cecil Baker, age 82, of Winfield, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper. Mr. Baker was born in Hackleburg, Alabama on October 23, 1943, to the late Jesse and Audy Elrod Baker. He spent much of his working life employed in various area mobile home plants until his retirement. In his spare time, Cecil enjoyed fishing, playing slot games on his phone, watching Alabama football, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Tammy Baker Whitman (Tommy) and Roger Baker; his grandchildren, Alicia Morrison (Jenna), Emily Ratliff (John Pickett), Katelyn Dole, Eric Morrison (Kayla), and Bradley Dole; his great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Morrison, Rohan Morrison, Kohlson Morrison, Cameron Morrison, Amelia Goggans, Ryder Spann, Noah Pickett, and Kyler Jordan; his brother, Lecil Baker; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his wife, whom he loved dearly, Stella Chism Baker; his daughter, Debbie Chism Dole; and his sisters, Doris Faye Baker Parkus, Opal Baker Hanson, and Ruby Baker Wright.
Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Middle Cemetery near Hackleburg. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
