Mrs. Mary Ellon Dickinson, better known as Sally, age 80, of Winfield, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at her residence. Sally was born on March 7, 1945, in Hubbertville, Alabama, to Arlon and Eardeal McDonald Smith. She was a 1963 graduate of Hubbertville High School and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Winfield, where she faithfully served on the food and bereavement committee. She spent much of her life as a certified nursing assistant, working in home health care for 25 years until her retirement. In her spare time, Sally enjoyed watching Alabama football, doing yard work, keeping her home in pristine condition, and spending time with her family.

Sally is survived by her sons, Shane Dickinson and his wife, Ashley, and Tony Dickinson Jr.; her granddaughters, Karlee Barros and her husband, Henrique, and Olivia Landrum; her great-grandchildren, Wade Shirley, Violet Wallace, and Naomi Landrum; and a host of cousins and other extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Dickinson; her granddaughter, Tiffany Dickinson; and her brother, Jesse “Boss” Smith.

Funeral services for Sally will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
