Vaughn Steel "Buck" Fowler, age 67, of Stapleton, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Springhill Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. He was born on October 5, 1958, in Winfield, Alabama, and was the son of the late Grier and Fay Fowler.
Buck graduated from Brilliant High School in 1977 and spent his life working as a skilled welder. Known for his hardworking nature and quiet strength, Buck made a living with his hands, building a reputation for his craftsmanship and dedication to his trade. In his free time, he enjoyed tending to his beloved garden, where he grew the finest tomatoes and peppers. A true Southern man, Buck was also known for his ability to smoke a perfect chicken, a skill he was proud to share with family and friends.
Buck is survived by his brother Frank Fowler (Brenda) of Winfield; his sisters Indy Fowler (Donald Joe) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Felice Rickher of Daphne, Alabama; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grier and Fay Fowler, and his sister, Georgia McNeil.
Buck will be remembered for his relaxed nature, humorous wit, his love of family, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service to celebrate Buck's life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bowen Funeral Home in Winfield, Alabama. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Winfield, Alabama.
