Mrs. Lenora Alice Smith, age 79, of Brilliant, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility in Guin. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1945 in Delmar, Alabama, she was the daughter of Noel Robert and Dean Louise Bass Taylor. Lenora’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and faith. She was a member of North Side Church of Christ, where her kind heart touched all who knew her. After attending Sunny Home School, she later earned her GED and took classes at Northwest Community College in Phil Campbell. In her professional life Lenora worked as a special education assistant at East Franklin School, a cook at Plaza BBQ, and a seamstress in a local garment plant. Later, she found her true calling as a homemaker and caring for her grandchildren. Lenora enjoyed reading her Bible and gardening.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Brenda Weston (David), her sons, Joey Smith and Kenny Smith, grandchildren, Bridgette Ware (Larry), Amber Edwards (Justin), Dustin Smith, Selena Smith, Tia Smith, Skylor Smith, Josh Smith (Morgan), Kirk Smith, Trinity Smith, and Tanaya Smith, great grandchildren, Lael, Asher, and Judah Ware, Zetta, Kimber, and Case Edwards, Sadie Smith, Tyler Posey, and Slayden, Syrus, Brodie, Nova, and Walker Smith, great-great grandchild, Salem Smith, sisters-in-law, Velma Estridge and Barbara Moody, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ervin Smith, brothers, Edward, Clovis, T.L., Golden, Clodie, and Junior Taylor, sister, Geneva Johnson, and great grandson, McCoy Smith.
A graveside service for Mrs. Smith will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the Phil Campbell Cemetery.
