Mr. Dustin Edward Carter, age 43, of Suwanee, Georgia formerly of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at his residence. Dustin was born in Winfield, Alabama on March 17, 1982 to Eddie and Jarita Weeks Carter. He was a member of Gwinnett Church in Georgia and a graduate of Winfield City High School class of 2001. After graduation he attended the University of West Alabama where he played college baseball for 4 years. Dustin still holds the homerun record at UWA. After college Dustin pursued a career in coaching at Sauce Athletics where he taught young children the art of baseball. When he wasn’t coaching Dustin enjoyed playing golf, doing anything outdoors, and spending time with his children.
Dustin is survived by his children, Max, Mason, and Avery Carter, his parents, Eddie and Jarita Carter, his sister, Tiffany Nesmith (Kevin), nephews, Mahlon and Dennis Gingerich, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
Dustin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Ellen Carter, and Charlie Ray and Maylene Weeks.
Funeral services for Dustin will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Winfield First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.
