Mrs. Mildred Ann Taylor, age 78, of Winfield passed away on Tuesday morning, July 30, 2024 surrounded by her family. Mildred was born in Guin, Alabama on July 28, 1946 to William Arnold and Marie Odell Pugh Silas. She was a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church and a 1964 graduate of Marion County High School. Mildred was employed with Alabama Power for 38 years as a teller, you could always count on seeing her smiling face when you walked in their door. Mildred and her husband Bobby enjoyed raising English Setters, they often traveled the country competing in field trials with their champion dogs. In her spare time Mildred enjoyed working in the yard and in her flower beds, riding horses, watching football, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide, and spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bobby Taylor, daughter, Alicia Taylor (Regina), step-grandchildren, Alex Gonder (Lauren), and Caitlyn Crocker, step-great grandchildren, Parker, and Sara Brooke Gonder, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Porter, nieces, nephews, an uncle, cousins and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Olie and Nettie Lee Taylor.
Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Guin City Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
