Mrs. Pauline "Polly" Hollis

Ms. Pauline S. Hollis, better known as Polly, of Guin, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her home in Guin.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Velma Webb, husband Gene Tyree, four brothers, and six sisters.  She is survived by her children, Bobby Gene Tyree of Glen Allen, AL, Patsy Watkins Mott (Tyree) of Fischer, TX and Ronald Harris of Cottondale,  grandchildren, Gary Tony Watkins of Brilliant, AL, Kim Sayre of Glen Allen, AL, Kristy Watkins Bride of Seattle, WA, Greg Tyree of Glen Allen, AL,  Joshua Harris of Dublin, CA,  and Jessica Harris Flood of Lubbock, TX.  several great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20th  from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Saturday at the funeral home burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Hollis family.

 

 

Mrs. Gay Weeks

Mrs. Gay Weeks, age 90 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.  Mrs. Weeks is the widow of the late Ray Weeks, and the mother of Vangie Weeks Rasbury, owner of Evangelyn Weeks Rasbury CPA Co., and Judy Weeks Green, owner of Judy's Secret Garden and Flower Shop, now located at the original site of Gay Weeks Flowers, where Gay first established and operated her floral business for over 40 years. Gay was a member of the Winfield First United Methodist Church, and an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.  She is survived by her daughters, Judy Weeks Green and Tommy of Winfield, Vangie Weeks Rasbury and Jackie of Winfield, her grandchildren, Whitney Rasbury and Ricky Beasley, Judd Green and Brenda Green.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lafayette and Annie Mullenix Lawrence, husband Ray Weeks,  her sisters, Maggie Huguley, Anna Laura Martin, and Lora Lawrence, brothers, Clyde and Clettus Thompson, Jim, Emmett, Bill, Buster, G.C., Lester, Vester, D.W., Larry, and Charles L. "Jack" Lawrence. Funeral services for Gay will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery.  The visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Weeks family. 

Mrs. Vicki H. Segraves

Mrs. Vicki Sue Hunt Segraves, age 63 of Winfield, passed away on January 31, 2016 at the U.A.B. Palliative Care Center in Birmingham.  She was preceded in death by her parents, K.C. Hunt and Annie Dotson Hunt, and a sister Nancy Hunt.  She is survived by her children, Amy Little (Sonny) of Winfield, Brent Segraves of Hoover, and Chris Segraves (Brandy) of Winfield, grandchildren,  Zack and Hannah Little, Kortney Segraves, Dylan Segraves, Brinlee Segraves, Kellan Segraves and Will Barnes.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Walker Memory Gardens near Jasper. Bro. Tim Meherg and Bro. C.W. Box will officiate.  The visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m (service time) on Thursday at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Segraves family. 


Michael Weeks

Mr. Michael P. Weeks Sr., age 51 of Hamilton, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford and Virginia White Weeks.  Michael is survived by his wife, Theresa Clark Weeks of Hamilton, 3 Children, Michael P. Weeks Jr, and Amber Rose Weeks, both of Hamilton, and Shianne Bambinelli (Zac) of Birmingham, a granddaughter, Catherine Rose Weeks of Hamilton, 2 brothers, Edward Larkin and Rayford Weeks of Philadelphia, PA, 4 sisters, Virginia Coontz, Diane Ciliberto , and Rosemary Weeks, all of Philadelphia, PA, and Catherine Weeks of Gulf Shores.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel,  Bro. Mark Maddox will officiate.  The visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Friday at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Weeks family. 



Mr. Charles F. Abbott

Mr. Charles Franklin Abbott, age 80 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.  Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Mae Etta Robinson Abbott, 4 sisters, Bertha Smith, Rushie Ganey, Ruth Meadows, and Clara McCluskey, and 2 brothers, H.V. and James T. Abbott.  He is survived by his wife, Betty Abbott of Winfield, sons, Michael Abbott (Cheryl) of Clermont, FL, Darrell Abbott (Shondra) of Winfield, and Brian Abbott of Winfield, grandchildren, Justin Abbott (Alisha), Jeremy, Kyle, Ryan, Kailey, and Aiden Abbott,  great grandchildren, Dylan Abbott and Aura Abbott, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016 from The Church of The Sheperd's Field with burial to follow in West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win.  Bro. James Gardner will officiate. The visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at The Church of The Sheperd's Field. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Abbott Family.
