Mr. George Edward Todd, age 93 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Todd was a United States Navy WWII veteran. During his time in the navy, he received many awards for his service; including, but not limited to, the Asiatic - Pacific Campaign Medal with 5 stars, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with 1 star, and Honorable Service Lapel Button. Mr. Todd enjoyed woodworking, and taking an active roll in charitable outreach, including the Republican party, Knights of Columbus, and many other Catholic charities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Dodson Todd, his parents, Clarence Beverly Todd and Marie Louise Sheltry Todd, siblings, Corrine, Phyllis, Jeannie, Phillip, Dick and Nancy, grandchildren, Jason, Brent, and Keith, and a step-son, Clarke McDonald. Mr. Todd is survived by his children, Michael (Carolyn) of Glen St. Mary, FL, Michele of South Burlington, Vermont, John (Carol) of Mobile, AL, Iris of Madeira Beach, FL, and Lita of Mobile, AL, grandchildren, Marie, James, Bonnie, George, Samuel, Andrew, Jessica, Caleb, Emily, Renee, Sherry, Dania, Cathy, Karen, and Ken, 23 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28th from the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Father Anthony Weis will officiate.
