Mrs. Lucille Sexton

Mrs. Sarah Lucille Sexton, age 85 of Winfield, passed away on Monday, August 19th, 2013 at her residence.  Mrs. Sexton was preceded in death by her parents, William David and Ethel Mae McWhirter Hallmark, her husband, Robert "Sonny Boy" Sexton, a daughter, Peggy Sexton Sandlin, grandson, Jamey Harris, one brother, Arlie Hallmark, and one sister, Arlene Tucker.  Mrs. Sexton is survived by 2 daughters, Margene (Tony) Butler of Winfield, and Susan Harris of Winfield, a brother, Renley Hallmark of Winfield, 3 sisters, Mary (ML) Hamric of Winfield, Brenda (Dan) Blodgette of Chelsea, and Dell Mims of Adger,  6 grandchildren, Melissa (Alan) Stovall, Chad (Kelli) Butler, Kim (Scott) Aldridge, Rob (Amy) Sandlin, Kristi (Ryan) Atwell, and Lesley Harris, 9 great grandchildren, Will &Ty Aldridge, Derek Stovall, Hillary (Chad) Smith, Bailey & Rylee Butler, Dillon, Kaitlyn, & Brayden Atwell, 2 great great grandchildren, Cailyn & Caralee Smith.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery.  Bro. Gary Cordes and Bro. David Sexton will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital or your favorite charity, in memory of Mrs. Sexton.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield directing.

Mrs. Ivalene Cochran Fowler

Mrs. Ivalene Cochran Fowler, age 82 of Northport formerly of Brilliant, passed away on Monday, August 5th, 2013 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Mrs. Fowler was a 1948 Graduate of Brilliant High School, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cared deeply for her family.  Her greatest joy came from being with and serving those she loved.  She was preceded in death b y 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Royce Fowler of Northport, daughters, Janet Fowler of Biloxi, Ms, and Karen Garrison of Northport, grandchildren, Royce Garrison of Northport and Jonathan Garrison of Raleigh, NC, great grandson, Samuel Garrison of Raleigh, NC, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Brilliant Memorial Gardens.  Dr. John Nixon will be the officiating minister.  The Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Thursday at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield directing.

 

 

Mrs. Lona Garner

Mrs. Lona Elizabeth Garner, age 87 of Winfield, passed away on July 14, 2013 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.  Mrs. Garner was born in Fayette County on June 17, 1926, the daughter of the late James and Ella Madison.  She was preceded in death by her Husband Auston Garner. She is survived by 3 children, Deborah (Kenneth) Dickinson of Boeme, TX, Ronnie (Janetta) Garner of Hamilton, AL, and Randy (Bella) Garner of Williamston, NC, 8 grandchildren, Terry, Johnathan, Ryan, and Nathan Garner, Laura Garner Shelander, Kim Dickinson Miller, Allison Dickinson Wilson, and Kevin Dickinson, and 6 great grandchildren, Bryan and Taylor Wilson, Shelby and Josh Miller, Kayleigh Garner, and Andy Shelander.  At Mrs. Garner's request, private graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 16, 2013 from the Winfield City Cemetery.  Bro. Danny Williams was the officiating minister.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield directing.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the Winfield First Baptist Church building fund or the Hamilton First Baptist Church Television Ministry. 

 

 

Mrs. Euna Bell Whitehead

Mrs. Euna Bell Whitehead, age 94 of the Hubbertville community, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013 in the Hospice of Northwest Alabama Healthcare facility in Tuscaloosa.  Mrs. Whitehead was preceded in death by her husband, Vadis Whitehead and a son Keith Whitehead.  She is survived by her daughters; Maelean Shirley of Fayette, Co., Chesteen Miles (Bobby) of Winfield, Mary Jane Phillips (Benny) of Fayette, Co., Elaine Miller (Herbert) of Millport, and Kaye Tucker (Dennis) of Winfield,  sons, Bud Whitehead (Dot) of Fayette Co., and Dennie Whitehead of Fayette, Co., 23 grandchildren, several great and geat great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Morris Cemetery in Fayette Co. Brother Hardy Robinson will be the officiating minister.  Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.   Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield directing.

 

 

Mr. Rondal D. "Bill" Dodd

Mr. Rondal Delynn "Bill" Dodd, age 72 of Clinton Arkansas, fomerly of Eldridge passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013 in Arkansas.  Bill was born on July 9, 1940 in Eldridge to the late Floyd and Estelle Sprinkle Dodd. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a minister for many years; a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  Mr. Dodd is survived by his wife of 39 years, Penny Marjean Floate Dodd of Clinton, AR, son, Winston Michael Dodd of Clinton, AR, daughters, Lori Michelle Dodd of Clinton, AR, Lisa Ann White of North Little Rock, AR, and Blair Rochelle Dodd of Clinton, AR, grandson Chase White of North Little Rock, AR, sisters, Maylene McWhirter (Larry) of Carbon Hill, and Marita Bailey (Elvis) of Hamilton, brothers, James Leon Dodd of Eldridge, Donald Dodd (Margaret) of Eldridge, Hoyt Dodd (Bobbie Jean) of Eldridge, Harlan Dean Dodd (Ann) of Winfield, Robert Glenden Dodd (Maxine) of Winfield, Joe Dodd (Donna) of Eldridge, and Benjie Dodd (Kay) of Eldridge, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5th, 2013 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Sprinkle Cemetery.  Brother Johnny Richardson will be the officiating minister.  The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral home of Winfield directing.
