Obituaries

Mrs. Mary Lou Tilley

Mrs. Mary Lou Tilley, age 93 of Winfield, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Fayette. Mrs. Tilley was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church, and retired from Winfield Cotton Mill with over 40 years of service.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Biba Pate Webster, her husband, Glenn Porter Tilley, sisters, Hassie Lee Perry, Ilabea Smith, Lavern Wilburn, Ernestine Loftis, Jquan Bull, and a brother Troy Webster.  She is survived by her daughter, Glenda (Robert) Bull, a granddaughter, Cassandra (Mike) Renfroe, great granddaughter, LaVette DeLoach, great grandson, Glendon Renfroe, great great grandchildren, Lunden, Caden, and Anna-Brooke DeLoach, a sister, Euna Mae Marshall, a brother, Clinton (Nina) Webster, sister-in-law, Eloise Potts, and a host of other relatives and friends.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16th from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Harmony Grove Cemetery.  Bro. C.W. Box and Rev. Tim MeHerg will officiate.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Tilley family. 

Mrs. Betty Sue Wood

Mrs. Betty Sue Wood, age 70 of Winfield, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at her residence.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus and Lilly Eugenia Burleson Leechwood, and a son Kenneth Brooks Sizemore.  Betty is survived by 2 sons, Keith and Kevin Sizemore, 2 sisters, Helen Mills and Ruth Thatenhurst, and grandchildren, Brooks Sizemore and Ashley S. Webb.  A memorial service for Betty will be arranged by the family at a later time.  In Lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Mrs. Wood's Family. 

Mr. Donnie Dodd

Mr. Donald Gregory "Donnie" Dodd, age 65 of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his residence.  Mr. Dodd was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Trinity Freewill Baptist Church where he served as song leader and Sunday School Superintendent.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Andrice and Agnes Johnston Dodd, a sister, Gail Hubbert, and 2 brothers, Gary and Stephen Dodd.  Donnie is survived by his wife, Tonie Trimm Dodd, a daughter, Christie Gibbs, 2 sons, Jason (Shandell) Housh, and Javin (Sunday) Housh, Grandchildren, Donya Hawkins, Dayla Cunniff, Deejah Trimm, Tate Lawrence, Laiken Housh, Jarett Housh, and Haley Housh, all of Winfield,  a sister Vicki Haggel of California, and a host of neices, nephews and other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.  Jim Robbins will officiate.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Dodd family. 

Mr. Lee Roy Guin

Mr. Lee Roy Guin, age 89 of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. God created a farmer on July 28, 1924, Lee Roy was a United States war veteran, He loved his Lord, family, and his life as a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Myrtle Henderson Guin, a son Eddie LaFave, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley Metzner Guin of Winfield,  daughters, Shirl Ganey (Tim) of Winfield, Marsha Bird (Rob) of Higginsville, MO, Anita Brotherton(Val) of Alma, MO, Rachal Morgan (Jimmy) of Hampton, GA, Sue Gourdoux (Don) of Racine, WI, Marge Welsh (Steve) of Union Grove, WI, and Kathy Krupkowski (Frank) of Union Grove, WI, sons, John Guin (Linda) of Warrensburg, MO, and Marlin Guin (Linda) Lees Summit, MO, 25 Grandchildren, 27 Great grandchildren, a brother, Jay Westbrook of Little Rock, AK, a sister, Ramie Smith of Upland, IN, and many neices , nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from Bowen Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in White Springs Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Guin family. 

 

Mac Eddy

Mr. Berlin Mac Eddy, age 61 of Pinson, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at his residence.  Mac graduated from Erwin High School in 1971, and was employed with Nationwide Detailing for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Berlin Eddy.  Mr. Eddy is survived by his mother, Frances Huguley Eddy of Brilliant, a sister, Kathy (Richie) Coyne of Trussville, brothers, Mark (Linda) Eddy of Remlap, and Joey (Kim) Eddy of Haleyville, nieces and nephews, Ashley Markham, Whitney Eddy, Courtney Eddy, Pat Coyne, and Allison Hammond, great nieces and nephews, Hallie and Luke Markham, Logan and Audrey Hammond, and many other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 1, from Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Brilliant Memorial Gardens.  Dr. David Sexton officiating.  Visitation will be from 1-3 pm (service time) on Sunday at the funeral home.  Bowen funeral home of Winfield serving the Eddy Family.
